Character Animation AI is a web studio that turns a short description, or an image you already have, into a character design and then animates it. Every animation is delivered with a transparent background, so it can sit on any website, app screen, or video.

You describe a character and choose a visual style. The studio draws a design for you to review. Once you approve it, you pick a motion preset or describe a custom motion, and the studio renders a short video, removes the background automatically, and prepares transparent downloads.

No. If you can describe a character in a sentence, you can use the studio. There is no timeline, rigging, or keyframes: the design and the motion are both driven by plain-language prompts.

Yes. Upload an image of an existing character, mascot, or illustration, and the studio uses it as the reference for the design before animating it. This is how the personal avatar examples on the home page were made.

Choose Soft 3D, Stylized, Anime, or Flat when you generate a design. The style applies to the character design; the motion you choose afterwards works with any style.

A character design usually appears in under a minute. Animations take a few minutes because the video is rendered, keyed, and exported in several formats. You can leave the page and come back; the studio keeps working and shows progress on the character.

Every new account receives 3 free credits. A character design costs 1 credit and an animation costs 1 more, so the free credits cover a design, its first animation, and one extra design or animation.

One credit generates one character design. One credit animates an approved design once. Retrying a failed generation is free, and downloading your exports in any format is always free.

You are not charged for work that did not finish. If a design or animation fails, the credit is returned to your balance automatically and you can retry it or try a different motion.

Credits from a subscription renewal are added to your balance, and credits from one-time packs stay in your account until you use them. If a subscription ends, you keep the credits you already have.

Credit packs are one-time top-ups for anyone who wants extra credits without a subscription, or before the next renewal. They cost more per credit than the matching monthly plan and never expire. Each plan has a matching pack: 100 credits for $22.50, 500 credits for $58.50, 5,000 credits for $178.50.

Yes. Plans are billed monthly and you can cancel from the billing page in your studio. Your plan stays active, with its credits, until the end of the cycle you already paid for, and you are not charged again.

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. Card details are entered on their secure checkout and never reach our servers. Dodo handles taxes, receipts, and invoices for every purchase.

Yes. Choosing a different plan on the billing page starts the new subscription; the old one ends at its next billing date so you never pay for two overlapping cycles.

Every finished animation can be downloaded as transparent WebM (for websites and React embeds), transparent MOV in ProRes 4444 (for video editors), transparent GIF, and MP4 with the original screen background. Current animations are square, 4–12 second clips at 720p; GIFs are 480px wide.

You choose the visual style before generating a design and can generate another design before approving one. After approval, the design is fixed so every animation of that character looks consistent; you can animate it as many times as you like with different motions.

Yes. That is the point of approving a design first: the same character can wave, dance, celebrate, or perform a custom motion, and every finished animation is kept in your library.

The presets are Wave, Bounce, Dance, Idle, Jump, plus Custom, where you describe the motion in your own words, for example “settle in with a book” or “enjoy a slice of cake”.

The Professional plan includes a commercial license for everything you create while subscribed. Free, Starter, and Creator accounts may use their creations for personal, educational, and internal projects. See the Terms of Service for the full license.

You own the prompts and images you upload. Subject to your plan and the Terms of Service, you receive a license to use the designs and animations you generate. We do not sell your creations or use your uploads to market to others.

Yes. Every account includes an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. Create an access key in the studio and add the server to any MCP client that supports Streamable HTTP with Bearer authentication, such as Claude Code, Claude Desktop, or Cursor, and your assistant can list characters, generate designs, start animations, and fetch downloads.

Sign in with your Google or GitHub account. There is no separate password to remember, and you can see which provider your account uses on the settings page.

You can request deletion at any time by emailing support@characteranimationai.com from the address on your account. Deleting an account removes your characters, animations, and uploads, and cannot be undone.

Account details and character records are stored in our database, and generated media is stored in cloud object storage. Prompts and reference images are sent to the AI providers that draw and animate your character only for as long as needed to generate the result. See the Privacy Policy for details.
