The rules, in plain language.

What you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and who owns what you make.

In short: credits pay for designs and animations, failed jobs refund themselves, you own what you upload, you get a licence to what you generate (commercial on Professional), and you agree not to make anything that infringes, harms, or deceives.

1. The agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and CharacterAnimationAI (“we”, “us”) for the use of the Character Animation AI website, studio, API, and MCP server (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, which are part of them.

If you use the Service on behalf of a company, you confirm that you have authority to bind it, and “you” includes that company.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live) and able to enter a contract. Paid plans require you to be an adult.
  • You sign in with Google or GitHub. You are responsible for the security of that provider account and for everything done through your Character Animation AI account, including by MCP clients holding your access key.
  • Keep your MCP access keys secret. Revoke a key immediately if you think it has leaked.
  • One person, one account. Do not create accounts to collect additional free credits.

3. Credits, plans, and payment

Credits

  • The Service is metered in credits. Generating a character design costs 1 credit; animating an approved design costs 1 credit. Downloads and retries of failed jobs are free.
  • New accounts receive 3 free credits. Free credits have no cash value.
  • If a generation fails on our side, the credit is returned automatically. A generation that completes but produces a result you do not like is not a failure and is not refunded, because the model has done the work; you review each design before spending a credit on animation.
  • Credits are not transferable between accounts and cannot be exchanged for money except as described in the Refund Policy.

Subscriptions

  • Paid plans renew monthly until cancelled. Each renewal adds the plan’s credits to your balance and charges the plan price.
  • You can cancel at any time from the billing page. The plan, and its credits, stay available until the end of the paid cycle; after that the account returns to the free plan and keeps its remaining credit balance.
  • Switching plans starts the new subscription and ends the old one at its next billing date.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice; the new price applies from your next renewal after the notice.

Credit packs

Credit packs are one-time purchases that add credits immediately after payment is confirmed. Pack credits never expire while the account exists.

Payment processing

Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments as merchant of record. Dodo’s terms apply to the transaction itself, including taxes and invoicing. Charges are made in US dollars unless the checkout shows otherwise. If a payment fails or is reversed, we may suspend the associated plan or credits until it is resolved.

4. Your content and acceptable use

“Your Content” means the prompts, images, and other material you submit. You keep ownership of Your Content and grant us a licence to host, process, and transmit it (including to AI providers) solely to provide the Service to you.

You confirm that you have the rights to submit Your Content, and you agree not to submit or generate:

  • content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, or publicity rights, including recognisable characters, logos, or people you do not have permission to use;
  • sexual content involving minors, or any sexualised depiction of a real person without their consent;
  • content that is hateful, harassing, or that promotes violence against a person or group;
  • content intended to deceive, including impersonating a real person or organisation;
  • malware, or anything that attempts to probe, overload, or interfere with the Service or its providers.

You also agree not to reverse-engineer the Service, scrape it, resell access to it, or use it to build a competing dataset. Automated use is welcome through the documented MCP server and API, subject to rate limits.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach these rules. Where practical we will tell you why.

5. Generated output and licence

“Output” means the character designs, animations, and exports the Service produces from Your Content.

Personal and internal use (Free, Starter, Creator)

We grant you a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use, copy, and display Output for personal projects, education, prototypes, portfolios, and internal business use (for example, internal tools and presentations). You may not sell Output on its own, offer it as stock, or use it as a trademark or logo.

Commercial licence (Professional)

While you are subscribed to the Professional plan, Output you generate is additionally licensed for commercial use: in products, apps, websites, advertising, videos, merchandise, and client work, without attribution. Output generated during an active Professional subscription stays commercially licensed after the subscription ends; Output generated on other plans does not become commercially licensed retroactively.

Limits that apply to every plan

  • AI output may resemble output generated for other users from similar prompts. We cannot guarantee that Output is unique or eligible for copyright protection in your country, and we make no promise that a trademark registration based on it will succeed.
  • You are responsible for how you use Output, including compliance with platform rules and advertising laws.
  • We may use Output that you have explicitly marked as shareable, or anonymised previews, to demonstrate the Service. We will not showcase private Output without asking.

6. The Service and changes to it

We work to keep the Service available, but it depends on third-party AI providers and cloud infrastructure and is provided “as is”. Generation times vary. Current animations are 4–12 second clips at 720p; we may add, change, or retire styles, motions, formats, and features over time. If we discontinue the Service entirely we will give reasonable notice so you can download your Output.

The Service may include software from third parties under their own licences, and links to third-party sites that we do not control.

7. Ending the agreement

  • You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing support@characteranimationai.com from the address on your account. Deletion is permanent; download anything you want to keep first.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, are used fraudulently, or are inactive for an extended period after notice. Unused paid credits on a terminated account are handled under the Refund Policy, except where termination is for a serious breach.
  • Sections about licences to Output already generated, payments owed, disclaimers, liability, and disputes survive termination.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and Output are provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from the Service or Output. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or 100 US dollars if you paid nothing.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in that case these limits apply to the extent permitted. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify us against claims arising from Your Content, your use of Output in breach of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which CharacterAnimationAI is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be brought in the courts of that jurisdiction unless consumer protection law where you live gives you the right to use your local courts. Before starting a formal dispute, please email support@characteranimationai.com; most issues can be resolved quickly.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced in the studio or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
