1. Who we are and what this covers
This policy explains how CharacterAnimationAI (“we”, “us”) handles personal information when you use the Character Animation AI website, studio, API, and MCP server (together, the “Service”). It applies to visitors of the public site and to people with an account.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service. Questions can be sent to support@characteranimationai.com.
2. Information we collect
Account information
You sign in with Google or GitHub. From the provider we receive your name, email address, the provider’s user identifier, and, where available, your profile picture. We do not receive or store your provider password.
Content you create
- Prompts — the character descriptions and motion descriptions you type.
- Uploads — images you provide as references for a character design.
- Generated media — character designs, animations, and their exports (WebM, MOV, GIF, MP4), along with names you give them, job status, and history.
- Preferences — settings such as your preferred export format.
Billing information
Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. We store your plan, subscription status and identifier, credit balance, purchase history, and the customer identifier Dodo assigns to you. We never receive or store your card number.
Technical information
Our servers keep standard request logs (IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, timestamp, and response status) for security and troubleshooting. Server-side logs about generation jobs record which job ran, when, and whether it succeeded.
MCP access keys
When you create an MCP access key we store a hashed copy, its prefix, and its expiry so we can authenticate connected clients and show you which key is active.
3. How we use information
- To provide the Service: sign you in, generate designs and animations from your prompts and uploads, store your library, and deliver downloads.
- To bill you: apply credits, record purchases and renewals reported by Dodo Payments, and show your plan.
- To support you: answer messages, investigate failed jobs, and restore credits where appropriate.
- To keep the Service safe: rate-limit abuse, detect fraud, enforce the Terms of Service, and secure accounts.
- To improve the Service: understand which features are used and where generations fail, using aggregated or de-identified data where possible.
- To communicate: send transactional email such as purchase confirmations or important changes to the Service or this policy. We do not send marketing email without your consent.
4. AI processing of prompts and images
Designs and animations are produced by third-party AI model providers. To generate your result we send the relevant prompt, chosen style and motion, and any reference image or approved design to those providers. They process the data to return the result and are contractually restricted from using it for other purposes, in line with their API terms.
We do not use your prompts, uploads, or generated media to train our own models, and we do not sell them.
Generated output is created by AI and may occasionally be inaccurate or unexpected. You review every design before it is animated.
7. How long we keep information
- Account and library: for as long as your account exists. Characters and animations you delete are removed from your library, and their stored media is deleted or scheduled for deletion.
- Billing records: for as long as required for tax and accounting obligations, typically seven years, even after account deletion.
- Server logs: a short rolling window, typically no more than 90 days, unless needed for an ongoing security investigation.
- Data sent to AI providers: only for as long as the provider needs to return the result, subject to the provider’s own retention terms.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing.
- Access and export: your profile is visible on the settings page, and every export can be downloaded from your library.
- Deletion: email support@characteranimationai.com from the address on your account and we will delete the account, its characters, animations, and uploads. Billing records are kept as described above.
- MCP keys: revoke or replace an access key at any time from the MCP connection page.
- Marketing: we do not send marketing email without consent; any such email will include an unsubscribe link.
We will respond to requests within 30 days. If you believe we have not handled your information properly, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Security
Traffic to the Service is encrypted with HTTPS. Session tokens and MCP keys are signed or hashed, generation jobs run server-side with rate limits, and access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure; if you suspect a problem with your account, contact us at support@characteranimationai.com with “Security” in the subject.
10. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the age of digital consent where you live), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
11. International transfers
Our servers and providers may be located outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses for transfers of personal information.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision; material changes will be announced in the studio or by email before they take effect.
